meetup

I recently attended a productive meet-up in Santa Barbara hosted and organized by Pia Oliver. This group is aimed at solving everyday issues with Drupal that members encounter. Several of the members have expressed that they enjoy the UCSB meetups and LADrupalCamps, but feel a need from something more concrete and can be applied to their day-to-day tasks with Drupal.

The 7 or 8 group members are of all skill levels, but generally new to Drupal. Some were brand new to Drupal and websites, some have design backgrounds, some had already installed Drupal on their laptops, running as localhosts using MAMP or the Acquia stack. We had a nice Drupal meetup in Santa Barbara last night. A few of us started out at the Goleta Sushi House and then moseyed up the street to the Java Station, both on Hollister Ave. Attendees included chris (christefano), lee, jason, joe, felicia, joe (artlung), jim, owen (grugnog2) and myself (markus). Topics included introductions, current projects and interests, wysiwyg editing, drupal 5 vs drupal 6 and finding drupal developers.
